■ Biei-cho

　　　　Biei-cho in Hokkaido which is in the central part mostly. We belong to "Daisetsu Zan National Park", and the gently-sloping hilly country which spreads the grand Mt. Tokachidake range among the backs spreads.

　　　　The idea which the Biei townsmen let out is drawing the hills on the field attractive as canvas, employing the nature every season and geography of this hilly country efficiently. The towns catchphrase is "a town of the hills ,Biei."

■ Charm

　　　"Charm of Biei-cho of hills " is that a hilly country changes to all seasons.

　　　　A part of snow becomes remaining and the green of the bud of winter wheat begins to be [ that the deep snow which had lain begins to solve early spring and a hill gradually by warmth by solar heat ] conspicuous in winter wheat planted in autumn. Townsmen are times of thinking that spring drew near at last.

　　　　The severe cold continues in the winter of Biei so that it may understand also by coloring of Lacch forest. The whole town becomes the white universe frequent by the severe cold.

　　　　Although the upper photo is "Ken & Mary's tree", the name with familiarity, such as "a tree of Seven Stars", is given to the tree of the hills. if winter comes -- a hills -- an integrality -- white -- although the all universe is replaced, trees show naturally the pause which becomes a picture, so that presence is shown, respectively and a cameraman's intensive attack is received. The hills of winter is really attractive.

　　　　The long birch wood located on Biei-cho along a road is also attraction. If a car is advanced toward the direction of a mountain through here, there is noted hot water "Shirogane Hot Springs." Near this Hot Springs, there are artificial pond [ of a sightseeing spot ] - "blue pond", "waterfall of Shirahige", etc., and you can look also at the figure light up from November to the next year end of March every year.
